Nutrition and Wellness

During 1st semester, this class emphasizes the fundamentals of nutrition and wellness, consumer skills, and proper food preparation.  This class will incorporate basic knowledge needed to use the food lab equipment properly, demonstrate safe food handling procedures, identify skills needed in food preparation, and learn nutrition requirements necessary for a healthy lifestyle.  During the second semester, students will advance their skills in meal planning and food preparation.
