MS Language Arts Teacher
I am a life-long BULLDOG! I graduated from Douglass High School in 1978.
My teaching degree came from Wichita State University in 1990.
I have been teaching a variety of Language Arts classes at Sisk Middle School for 20 years. Prior to full time teaching, I worked as a substitute teacher for our district. I am a Bulldog, through and through!
After graduating from DHS in 1978, my high school sweetheart and I were married in April of 1980. We have been blessed with three children who have attended Douglass schools from kindergarten to graduation. We are excited to have our daughter Jazmyne Burdette teaching second grade at Seal Elementary this year! Next is Payton who is a senior majoring in chemical engineering at KU. Finally, with Rip headed to Lawrence to become our newest Jayhawk, majoring in Business/Entrepreneurship, Randy and I will be adjusting to an empty nest. It will be a new adventure for us, after having had a child in the Douglass school system for the past 20 years!
If the Bulldogs are playing, we're there! Our kids have been involved in most of the activities offered by our district, and Randy and I love going to their events.
