Science lab
The science lab is here for the third year at Seal and is located in the building that houses band, art, and the compter lab. The focus is hands-on- inquiry and all nineteen classes, K-5th grade, participate. The lessons are based on the state science standards which makes for quite a variety. One week might find 5th graders dissecting owl pellets and kindergarten students "fishing" with magnets. As a teacher who has always held a special place in her heart for science, it's a wonderful opportunity. My hope is that science lab might plant some seeds of interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) professions and every individual, regardless of what occupation they choose, will be better off for understanding basic scientific principles.
