Mrs. Dunagan's Home Connection

November 17th
Parent Info:

funnyladybug081906.gif    Thunder Reading Progam--I am sending home a letter and a bookmark toady about the Thunder reading program.  If your child reads 4 books by the end of November send back the bookmark and I will sign it.  The bookmark can then be turned in for one ticket to the December 13th Thunder game.  This is all up to you whether you would like to participate or not.  I will not be rewarding the students further who participate like I do with the Book-It program.

Reading-We will be working on the word family "-uck" this week.  We will draw a duck and a truck.  The homework one night will be to come up with as many "-uck" words as you can.  We will use"-uck" words to learn how to alphabetize.   We will also review when to use ck and k and c. We will discuss ing, ong, and ung.  During guided reading we will read more about Thanksgiving.  We will also read Little Red Hen and Stone Soup.

Booki_It_1_.gif  The November Book-It will be due at the end of the month.

Math-  We will continue to work on subtraction.  We will learn how to subtract using the number line and some fun Thanksgiving worksheets.  We will also go to the school store on Thursday.

ladybug_small.gif  We are going to make stone soup next week.  We will be sending home notes later in the week asking each student to bring something for our soup.  If you can not bring what I have asked please let me know.  Also, if you would like to join us for stone soup feel free.  We will be eating at 10:50 on Tuesday.

smile5.gif Just a reminder that as the weather gets cooler we continue to go out to recess.  Please make sure that you send a jacket, or a coat, hats, and mittens.  These items are easily lost please make sure to write your child's name on each item.  Thanks!

Dates to Remember:

Thursday, November 20th--Charity Hat Day!  for the Daughty students at the high school that lost their father.

Wednesday-Friday November 26th-28th--We will have NO SCHOOL.  Have a great Thanksgiving break!  I am very thankful I have such a great group of students and parents!
